Quality not Quantity is a term that you hear occasionally, but here at Crosshill Stockdogs it is one we adhere to. I believe a dog has to have heart and instinct and that it comes from the breeding and not training. I can always put a little better handle on a dog that is very strong, but I can’t put heart into a dog that doesn’t have it! One of my greatest pet peeves is a dog that quits before we are through. It doesn’t matter how good he starts out, it’s that heart that keeps him going until we are finished!
Our 2 boys ensure that our dogs are played with regularly as well as being the official puppy socializing team! Combined with my wife Jennifer’s’ approval, that makes Crosshill Working Aussies “kid tested’ as well as “mother approved”!

Cheetoe – 3 year old Blue Merle male out of T-N Lacy, a Beaudroux daughter and by Melvin Cyphers good male Smoky that was bred by Jody Mikles. This dog is big and tough with lots of bone. He will work all day. We have used him on stockers and cows. A very strong head dog but will also heel as needed. A mixup on his puppy papers resulted in his not being permanently registered but he is full blood and will bite both ends, it was strictly a paperwork error during the time the new Hanging Tree Association was forming that kept him from getting full registration papers. This is a good dog and if you don’t care about papers, he would be a super cross on your working HTC females to add size and grit.
